    You did a good job. This quilt is sure to be a favorite.

    In some cases I have quilted then appliqued, when the applique will be rather large. Generally, however, I think quilters work around the applique, as you did.

    what? sewing machines are so cheap at flea markets, craigs list , walmart. You show some real creative talent, Quilting is a good outlet for such talent. Grow baby grow!
