Another way to embellish your quilts is to use acrylic paints, but you need to utilize "Fabric Painting Medium", which converts acrylics to Fabric paint. I use this on leaves, and small items to make them have a little more depth and create interest.

Sorry if the pic is a little fuzzy...

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Where would I more likely find the "medium" - Joanne's or Michael's? .... either is about 20 miles from me ... in different directions... so which way should I journey?

    Thanks for any reply

I know Michael's carries (or did carry it).

Anyone that sells acrylic paint should carry the medium, check out any art stores as well as Michaels or crafty stores.

Your rose is just gorgeous. Have you ever tried painting on very light mottled fabric. It gives a gorgeous background for your painting. Your painting is so wonderful

I recently watched the Longarm Quilting Show on QNN and seen one of the guests do the same thing using colored pencils to do the shading or highlighting on her quilt then she put on a layer of the fabric medium and let it dry entirely. She said that it would never fade or wash out. Haven't tried it yet but intend to.
