Wonderful quilt, Marion. This is sort of personal preference and won't work for this quilt but I always remove the paper in small batches as I finish four or five blocks before I sew the blocks together. Tearing a whole quilt like this would be just too daunting to me.

    Make it fun.

Very nice. Not sure I have the courage to take on something like that.

I spent 15 minutes taking three blocks of paper apart ... got frustrated and googled it ... tossed the whole thing in the wash on a quick / cold wash .... and all the paper is gone. Now I just have to wait for all the paper to dry and I'll vacuum out my washing machine!

Beautiful Quilt! Good luck getting all those little pieces off. I save jobs like that for TV time.

I found a trick that helps me remove the paper easier. Maybe it will work for you too. I hold sections of the quilt in each hand about 15" -18" apart, and make a 'pedaling' motion with my hands gently a few inches apart. It helps tear all the paper loose so I can grab it easier. Do not rub the sections together, or you may get block distortion.

Thanks for the tip ... but I posted above that the washing machine did the trick!!!! And I started a new thread showing how well it did!!!

If I was doing a smaller quilt I might have had more patience LOL
