    This was how my dealer showed me to lock my channels for long stretches of straight line quilting. Put vice grips in front and in back of the wheels on the carriage so you can only go side to side. If you want to just go vertical you move the vice grips so the carriage can't move side to side. I use those spring loaded jobs. I think I just need to get a hang of the lighter hand when using them. Or do like you and don't use them at all! ;)
    Oh I see. I would be interested in maybe trying that. NOne of us here use the CHannel locks..I was even in an INNOVA meeting at my LQS one time ( all innova users meet once a month) and asked about their CL. They didn't even know what their channel locks looked like?? We all use rulers to do our straight lines. That is just how I learned..So it is easier.
