This was a year long project within our small quilting group of 10 people. We all chose our own theme and colors of our likes. Everyone's theme was different. To get started, we bought a pizza box for everyone and labeled our names on them. On the inside lid was listed the theme or colors that you would like to have in your quilt. First step was to put a fat quarter (FQ) 18" X 22" in your box, bring to meeting and it got passed on to one more person per month.....the idea was to slash the quilt on a straigt angle or angle cut, but you had to add to the quilt 4" horizontally and 4" vertically, or at an angle. At each pass, your quilt grew four inches wider and 4 inches longer. I think my quilt ended being 50" wide and 58 1/2" long. It was fun to see your quilt grow each month, cuz the cut could make the difference in your quilts' look. It was fun to do. You could cut the strips 1", 1 1/2", 3" or whatever, just so it totaled out to be 4" that you inserted. You also would need to allow for 1/4" seams. Example: If you were inserting 2", then cut your strip at 2 1/2", etc.

That was a neat group project! And a great way to use some of your stash!
Your quilt is beautiful! And you must like it too, because you've kept it!
