Patriotic Quilt for Dad's 90th Birthday
#32
You are a very special daughter with a very special Dad. For many men his age World War II was the most exciting, dramatic, and/or traumatic event of their lives, so it's no wonder his mind goes back to that time. Your quilt is just wonderful and full of love. It will be cherished. Bless your heart.

What a lovely quilt. I'm sure your dad is going to be so touched by your design and the love you put into making it for him.
I started my quilt with the center block too - LOL It may not be traditional, but sometimes it works!

Your story touched my heart so much. Before he passed away, my dad had dementia, too, & spent his days reliving his days with his war buddies. That made him happy so it made me happy, too. I, too, loved him know matter where he was in time. I know how much this will mean to your father & I so admire you as a daughter. Good job all the way around. I hope your dad has a beautiful birthday. Thanks for sharing with us.

I am almost too choked up to say anything.... but you made my day and I am so happy that you shared this with us. I was also an army brat and my dad served in WWII, boots on the ground, D Day plus one on Normandy Beach. I was lucky to have him till he was 83 probably because he landed there on the second day instead of the first day. I love your quilt, it is just beautiful. Touches my heart !!!!
