    That's a great quilt and your mom's neighbor will be touched by your generosity. As the wife of a Viet Nam vet, I know first hand that when those veterans came back, they did not get a nice welcome. I was working in a VA Hospital while my DH was over there and saw the guys who came back with missing limbs and mental issues. It's a great quilt.
