Ginny at missour star quilt company, has a big star quilt make with 30's repo's but they also have lots of quilts and ideas. Never hurts to check there, they provide so much information, even for a seasoned quilter.

After asking my question, today is the first time I have been able to come back and read the responses. I huge thank you to every one of you for your ideas. I can see that I will be spending the rest of the day going to all the sites you mentioned and viewing the quilts! Thank you, thank you!!!
