Love them! That's a quilt on my list for 'someday' and hopefully sooner than later! heehee!

Quick question though- why did you choose to do a border on 2 sides of both quilts(from what I can tell), and not leave the 'scalloped' look around the entire quilt? ..Just curious. I like the look of both of them, but wondering if there's a reason...

That's a very good question actually. I didn't like the look of it which is why I cut the two ends straight and put a binding on them. My advice is to make one and see what you think. I think that issue was why it took me sooooo long to complete the quilts because I didn't know what to do with 2 of the sides. It didn't turn out with nice edging like the two I left. Also, the two I did leave natural I didn a row of machine top stitching along the length to reinforce those areas and those seams have never pulled apart. My binding was also put on by machine using a zig zag stitch and it did come out and looks nice. I expected the ends to be the same on all 4 sides and they didn't come out that way. If you do make one, I'd love to see what you do with it. that's where I think the puff quilt may work up easier.

You don't have to use the hexagon template to make a biscuit quilt. You can use squares or triangles or any shape that will fit together well. If the sides don't work, just cut them straight like I did.

your quilts are beautiful. they must be very heavy.
I made one for my doggie several years ago. Made a nice comfortable bed for her and I only had to make like 16 of them. I think they were 4x4 squares.
Very fun to make.

Thank you. The queens sized one is heavy but the throw which is slightly shorter than I and I'm 5'3" is very light and so comfortable. My throw is my oldest granddaughter's favorite quilt and she uses it whenever she visits. To be honest, I do prefer the throw. It's pretty, it's coloful and it's fun but for daily use on a bed, unless you machine sew the hexagon's together, I think the hand stitching would pull apart. In 20 years though, I've only had to restitch may 10 of the short sides total so that's pretty good and it does get plenty of use.
