    Hi!
I bought this kit in Alaska last fall and while it is meant to be a wall hanging of 48" square I have made it into a snuggle quilt for my husband's birthday ( on Sunday! YIKES!) by adding the black border and the one next to it.

Can I leave the side borders of black off to make the quilt more quilt shaped or should I continue on to make it a square?

I want to finish the top today and possibly get it layered!

Wonderful quilt. You did a fabulous job. But I think I would add the black. It looks a little unfinished.

Beautiful! I think I'd go ahead and add the black side borders. If you don't, it will bug you every time you look at the quilt!
