Lady, you have started something so totally new. Can just imagine this hat in all our lucious fabrics. Like the idea of the vent holes. Can always coordinate with the bright happy accessories in the market today.

    Good going. Great job.

LOL I hope so! I am going to make one to wear to the Des Moines quilt show in October. I am trying to decide on fabrics already. Takes me forever for super special things.

Yup, just takes a little time to figure it out. I also didn't have a compass so I raided the party trays and small plates in my cupboards.
For future reference when you don't have a compass you can make one out of a pencil & string. Tie string to pencil (long piece) & fold your paper in half & mark these lines from top to bottom & side to side. Hold string at center of intersection tight & pencil out from it . Start to mark all around like a compass to achieve the size circle you want. Be sure string doesn't move or leave the center. You will need to do this for the outter part of the brim anyway.

That came out so great. I can also see this in a beautiful floral. I know your are going to have fun making more out of different fabrics.

Working on hat. Just about got the brim all stitched around. I may trim it off some as I think it may be a little too floopy. Gonna finish the whole hat & then put edge strip on outside & see what I got. This is the hardest free pattern I ever recieved. They sure made you work for it.
