Clean the outside black parts of the sewing machine with a little bit of Murphy's Oil Soap on a damp paper towel. It will take off the grime and not hurt the gold. Then to give it a nice shine and protect the gold from flaking off apply several coats of paste car wax and rub until shiny. It will look mah-vel-ous!!!

You could name her "Belle" because it means 'beautiful'.

thank you soooooo much for the cleaning advice!!! I don't want to hurt my baby or remove any markings. That is great info to know.

I just had an idea... ooh my head still hurts LOL.... I would love to find replica fabrics from the 1907 era to make a tiny quilt to display with my baby.

After everyone's wonderful name suggestions (and I even checked out the websites for popular names of that time) I have decided on a name. I will call her Belle. Thank you Cissyquilts for the lovely name!! :) She is a Belle of a machine.. well in my eyes she is !! :)
