Here is a picture of our Group tutorial result on paper piecing. I really enjoyed this one ...WHEN.... I got the hang of it. The penny didnīt drop at first but then got the hang of the concept. Have decided to make this the centre of my next quilt (donīt laugh just another WIP, I have 2 others at the mo).

Thinking on putting flying geese as the next border

I added a border, and am attempting some time this week to have a bash at free hand quilting.....now that should be fun.

This is really beautiful. I must confess, the thought of paper piecing gives me the hives. I've looked and looked at the instructions, and I just DO NOT understand what they are talking about.

I love your piece, just so pretty. Your border is perfect, your points are marvelous, and I think flying geese would be just the ticket. Are you going to make them the assorted colors of the star?

It looks even better in real life folks...the colours are simply 'divine'!!!

Elle are you gonna 'free-motion' quilt, is that what you mean??? I hope you get the hang of it, as it is great fun and soooo quick!!!

Look forward to seeing it finished....I won't be at class on tuesday as I have got family coming over next week...lots of jobs to do, you know how it is!!! (Still got some time for my friends on here, and of course abit of sewing too, I have been doing some lovely little seven inch blocks that Cathy M sent over to me, they were pre-cut, but sadly some of the fabric was missing SO I just invented another block to compliment the first one, it will be 12 blocks of about 7.5"!!

Yes the geese are going to echo the colours, think that might work. Thanks for your lovely comments. But its the paper piece tecnique that gives you such great points. Elle

Yes Izy, You have got the hang of me and my names for different quilting, I meant free-motion quilting. Going to have a go at that. Rachel showed me on Tuesday and it looked so easy when she did it, but then practice is the secret.

Our Group leader is so patient and she showed me how she practiced on two pieces of FELT. Instead of wasting your precious batting and material and she just kept going over the felt with different coloured thread. Good tip for you all to help you I hope. Place the felt together to get 2 thicknesses and off you go
