Thanks Henry, i love how you did the quilting with the straight lines, but when you got to the stars, you didnt do the lines through them, that is so nice, i like simpler quilting, but also, cus i dont know how to do complicated quilting lol, but i think simple is very elegant too. So i guess, when you had to stop for the stars, you would have to lift pressure foot up and move forward past the star, etc, that would have been annoying to do i think, but looks so nice, well worth the effort

I like your grandma's quilt so much, i've been searching the net all morning for an easy way to do that patter, cus i'd like to make one. The background blocks look too daunting to me, don't know how i'd attach them with the corners and all, so i searched and found an easy pattern, this pattern has stripes on it, but i will prob do it without the stripes, but here's the pattern i found if anyone would like one...it's done with paper piecing which i like:

Congratulations Henry to you and your grandmother for a beautiful quilt. So fortunate it didn't disappear in the fire.

    Henry,
What a lovely quilt. Is it hand quilted or machine quilted? I thought I read recently that you mostly hand quilt? It's very nice & I'm sure your grandmother really loves that you finished it for her. My grandmother was a quilter also & is the primary reason I quilt. I prefer hand quilting but machine quilt sometimes, I always end up less than satisfied with the machine quilting as it's never as smooth as the hand quilting.
