Default Pictures from my Mystery Quilt Weekend

Hello! I started quilting about three years ago when my first grandchild was born and slowly have gotten more interested in making quilts and I have been enjoying the process more and more. I am definitely a "seasonal quilter" and start every year when the time changes and it gets too dark to ride my bicycle on the road after work. I found this board a few weeks or so ago and have thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the pictures and reading all the tips and tricks! Thanks so much for posting them!!

Anywho, enough about me. I did my first mystery quilt weekend at a local quilt shop this weekend and ended up with this quilt top:

I NEVER would have picked these colors for this pattern on my own. I read the instructions about how the colors should "play" and ended up with these three colors and I really think it looks great. I can't wait to but the back together and get it quilted to see how it finishes. It is so much more vibrant in person.

I ended up finishing early, so I used the extra time on the second day to finish up a quilt top of Pittsburgh sports teams that I was making for my husband:

Now I have two quilt tops ready to be finished... that never happens to me and it's stressing me out!

P.S. - does anyone know how to embed pictures from Flickr? I can't figure it out on this board...

Great job! Are you going to give your husband his for this Christmas? He's going to love it! I love how you used the penquin fabric with the team logo fabric. Brilliant!

I couldn't find penguins logo fabric (I don't think the NHL sells fabric) so when I saw this penguins fabric i bought a bolt! It is really pretty in person. I hope to have it done before Christmas, but it isn't specifically for the holiday.
