Here's what I did for my design wall - went to the dollar store and bought a table cloth, the plastic on the front and flannel on back kind. It's inexpensive and works great. Tack it up on the wall flannel side out and viola! instant design wall. Enjoy and welcome to Florida!!

I was reading my BH&G magazine, that someone suggested using black fabric on the design wall to keep the quilt blocks from getting lost if they were on a white background.
I hear you can get homasote at the homestore (lowes or HD) then cover it with your fabric of choice. Best to use fabric with a nap-flannel, and the blocks stay up without pinning.
    wonderful room! I am jealous!!!!!!!!

What a great room. I like "noise" while I create as well, either TV or stereo. Enjoy!

My H just built a design wall using pink 1' 2x8 insulation from home depot. works well with a flannel over cover. can pin without hurting the wall. give it a look.

What a wonderful space you have created. NOW GET TO WORK! LMAO.
But seriously, it is wonderful. I don't blame you for not wanting to put curtains on the window.
