    Very cute pincushions!
I just made my very first pincushion for the July secret pal swap, but didn't take a pic. Maybe the recipient will when she receives her squishy in the mail in the next few days. If she doesn't, it was a flower!!!

Used to make crocheted turtles over margerine tubs as baby rattles. Could stuff with fiberfill instead for a pincushion. May have to get some verigated yarn and make some of those again. They were really cute.

I'm not in the swap, but here's a picture of a pincushion that I made. I glued the cup to the saucer first. I keep little doodads in the saucer when I am sewing, like my package of needles, etc.

    Those are the cutest pin-cushions!

Here's an early 1980's photo of the one I used. Nothing fancy in my home, just a utilitarian place to stick the pins when not in use.

This was one of my favorite things to do. I used to do the pin cushion swap several years ago. Loved it. Here are a few I did. Thanks for looking and I apologize for taking up so much space.

Here is a better picture of the last one and a few more I have made. My favorite thing was to go to yard sales or thrift stores and buy what knots and make pin cushions out of them.

This last one is a "finger pin cushion" which has elastic band on the bottom and is made out of plastic bottle caps. Great to use with applique or hand quilting.

Those are all so dear. I love them all - especially the tea cup cushions! You are so talented, Twinkie!

The chickens with the farm girl were filled with polyester
The small chicks were just crocheted with cotton yarn and the mother hen is made from watching a video that was on the Quilting from the Heartland on QNN.

Sticky the stuck up turtle is made with a bar of soap as the pincushion and I make these to go with baby shower gifts. The soap lubricates the safety pins but now hardly any of the young mothers know about cloth diapers and safety pins so I now give a package of cloth diapers and directions on how to use them.

I wish there were more pictures of pin cushions. I have so many knick knacks I could use to make more. Love them
