Oh my goodness they sure are cute! Love the effect the jumbo rickrack gives the edges. Thanks for sharing. Now I gotta go find some fruit fabric.

Those are just toooo cute! I'm afraid if I had those in my kitchen I'd keep getting hungry for real pie! LOL!

You know, of course, that kitchens around the world will soon be graced by clones and variations of 'pie pads'.

Thanks, friends, for all the kudos and interest in my project. It warms my heart! This project was shown at our local “Creative U” on two separate occasions. Later, I found that I had purchased the pattern twice. My DD loves to make pies, so I thought they would be perfect for her. Of course, my other DD should have some . . . and a DFriend . . . and myself . . .

Susansomethings ~ Your DD’s cake is wonderful!

Here’s a link to the pattern I used:
Grandma Dot’s Fruit Pie Hot Pads: http://www.pacificfabrics.com/shop/p...t-pad-pattern/

If you can’t find the ric rac locally, you can order it here: http://www.theribbonretreat.com/Cata...FQWCQgodQQ4Ajw It’s the Jumbo size. Or you could gather up some fabric as shown here: http://sewing.about.com/od/homedecpr...tpourripie.htm

The pattern just calls for the ric rac sewn on flat, but I folded it in half and liked the look better. I “faced” the insulbright towards the top, so it’s more of a hotpad than a potholder.

Also, the “strawberry” is really raspberry.
