    Wonderful top! I don't do machine embroidery but I know we have some wonderful people who do. Maybe they can give you some pointers? I think if they were dense designs, I would do them on the top first (with stabilizer on the back) before making the quilt sandwich. If they are open designs that some use, they can be done for quilting the sandwich. Good luck and can't wait to see it finished!

    I would quilt around the shapes, and then do some quilting to fill in the background...you could just do some stippling, or something with swirls, loops, whatever seems appropriate to you...have fun with it!

    Thanks for the great ideas and compliments! I like the idea of phantom flowers, etc in open areas.

    Since the batting will be in two pieces, do I stich a seam to hold it together before I make the quilt sandwich?

    I think I worded my post wrong, as I have not used the embroidery loop on my machine yet, so I wouldn't be doing that. I have different stithces I can use in different areas of the quilt though.

    I called my LQS and she said I do need to stitch the batting together if it is not big enough, luckily mine was big enough.
