Tomorrow my LQS is having a pillowcase day where quilters sign up and make pillowcases all day to donate to Heads at Ease, which sends them to the men and women overseas in the military. We couldn't do tomorrow, so I put a team together (me, DH, best friend, and my dad) and we made pillowcases today. We made 13 cases from scratch and finished 2 that I had started a year+ ago to donate to a group that gives them to children (hence why the Halloween and butterflies really stand out... different project). We spent about 4.5 hours on this, including a pizza lunch break.

Neat. Think I'll check and see if my LQS is participating.

I know ours participates in various activities and is a drop off point for Project Linus and a few others. Yours probably is at least a drop off point for something... quilters are great people!

Bless you and the others that worked on them!

Your pillowcases look great and aren't they fun to make. Go to millionpillowcases.com and record the number you are giving away to help their goal of reaching one million pillowcases this year. Don't think they will get to that number but it is a great cause. My small quilting group has made almost 200 since this summer to be given to nursing homes, battered adult shelters and children's help charities this winter.
