I always back my quilts with flannel and never have any problems. I did use fleece as backing one time and it was difficult because of the stretch but I think I am going to try it again. As long as you don't stretch the fleece using it for batting would be fine. Sorry haven't used adhesive spray with fleece. Hope this answers all your questions. If you need more help just PM me.
