I am making a pink and brown toddler quilt for a friend, too. In fact, I have some of the same striped fabric you used! I have a panel with pink and white butterflies and ladybugs on it and am going to put pinwheels all around the panel. I am using a pink checked fabric for the background of the pinwheels and five other prints for the "blades". I'm thinking of quilting a spriral from the middle to the edge of each pinwheel to simulate "spinning". Haven't decided whether to echo quilt the butterflies and ladybugs in the panel, or to do meadering and/or loops in it to simulate the flight of the butterflies.
At any rate, your quilt is darling. Hope mine turns out as well.

This is the pattern I have been looking for. Thank you all for the looking and responses. This Quilt Board has the nicest people and most generous with sharing their time by looking.
