Oh, and the quilt top will be gorgeous. Love the color combination. And such neat work!
Gail---there are NO dumb questions--especially here. That is what this forum is all about-sharing our love and knowledge of quilting. If you don't ask, you never learn!!

Some fabric stores do have a section for Civil War fabrics, others may just have a current line, or none at all. You can certainly ask the staff and they should be able to tell you. Quilt shows are a great place to find CW repros. After you have been buying them for a while, you seem to develop an "eye" for them and can spot them across a crowded room.

There are many places on the web to check out CW reproduction fabrics. Moda has a designer named Barbara Brackman who has designed a lot of CW lines. The link to her website is http://www.barbarabrackman.com/

Judie Rothermel is another designer of CW fabrics (as well as 30s reproduction fabrics) Here is a link to her website. You can order directly from her or find her fabrics in some shops. She also has a great booth at most of the major quilt shows http://www.schoolhousequilts.com/

Here are some links to some quilts on the board using CW repros

Caution: Collecting CW fabrics for your stash is highly addictive!! If you are going to begin collecting for a quilt, just know that you may end up with a stash big enough for several quilts!
Marcia, thank you for replying to Gail. You provided some great information. Civil War fabrics are definitely becoming more popular. One of my local quilt shops has an entire section for civil war fabric. I got hooked when a friend of mine was doing her Dear Jane. I would love to make a DJ quilt one of these days. :D

Marcia, thank you sooo much for the information and your patience. I can't wait until I have time to get to check out all of the links. I'm taking a little break from my cakes right now. Resting the old shoulders. When this wedding is done, I'll be back to quilts for a while. I'm at the sealing stage right now and have 2 more to go before I can stop for the night.

Oh, and thanks for the warning about collecting CW fabrics becoming addictive. You know, I'm at high risk for addictions so I'd better be careful. (I'm already addicted to fabrics and food.)
