    yes it could use sashing. they are great blocks. love the fabrics.

    I agree you need sashing, but I would wait until the blocks are done and see if the sashing is better around each pinwheel 4-patch block or a section of 4 or 9 pinwheel sets. A dark, olive or khaki green would be good.

    Love, love, love all the input. I auditioned red and a darker blue - don't have a green to try. A visit to the quilt shop is in order! I'm just happily making 4-block pinwheels until I decide what to do next. I've even wondered about a cream for the sashing and inner border.... but will try the darker colors first.

    I agree, you need a bit of rest before you start the border -- and picking up the red would be a good touch.

    I would also go for a red sashing around the blocks You could use that fabric for borders or backing.. Going to be real whimsical.

    sashing too busy. I love the block--the difference of size in the prints makes it great. But then the sashing isn't different enough in scale
