    Default Placemats for my daughter

My daughter just finished renovating her kitchen. Black cupboards, off-white countertops and backsplash and gorgeous teal blue walls. She needed new placemats. She chose a quilt pattern and the fabrics to match her kitchen. I reduced the size of the pattern and used about half of it for the placemats. They finished at 13x18.5 - a great size for placemats. I also made four black napkins. They look wonderful in her kitchen, and she absolutely loves them. I hope to not have to sew black fabric with black thread for a very long time.

, they turned out beautiful. I only like to sew black on black on a Sunny day. No sun comes into window but it does make a big difference.

those are great! I decided today to make some placemats for my nephew and his wife for Christmas and know they are more "modern" than the chicken ones that I'm making for Sis. Yours are perfectly modern! She's going to love them.
