I am making a folded flower quilt in kiddie colors for my niece. My original plan was to make a random mix of solids and prints, but I am finding the solids to be pretty intense! (This is not my favorite color palette!) I could construct the units with only the prints on the outside, which would tone down the solids, but does that make it look too busy? I keep going back and forth, one day I think one thing and the next another! I would appreciate your opinions.

Mixing it up looks good. Nice choice of colors.

That's a neat pattern! I like the first one the best.

I kind of like the first one too but if i hadn't seen it that way, the 2nd would be just lovely. your choice.

I like the first one too.... the second one is pretty but there's nothing for the eye to "stop" on, it just flits all over the place.

The first one is gorgeous, love the colours. :-)

The first one had a 3D effect to me. I really love both placements, but the first one might be more fun for a kid.

I am with everyone else. I like the mix of solids and prints. That is going to be beautiful.
