Kim's dad takes kidney dialysis 3 times/week, and is always freezing during and after the procedure. He has a "go bag" that includes a couple of blankets, but he is finally getting a quilt. Hopefully this will be all he needs. It has a fleece back, and has batting in the middle. Quilting it was a dream, and there was almost no lint. Binding was a different story.

He is a huge LSU fan, as he pastored in Baton Rouge for 20+ years. I have negative interest in sports, but of course we razz each other about my alma mater, UT Knoxville, and LSU. I intended to put an orange block in this quilt somewhere, but Kim put it together too fast and I didn't get to do it. All of his grandkids call him Pop-Pop.

    Thanks for looking.

    Darren

I like the fleece back - may have to do this again.

Pop-pop is gonna be warm now cuddled up in his new quilt. You could always sneak your Orange in by making an orange label for it! Your LSU quilt is really nice, Darren! I'm sure you and Kim will be in tears when you see how happy he is when he receives it! Kind of like an early Father's Day gift! Way to go!!

I know this will be a treasured and much used gift! Love the idea of the flannel backing for extra warmth! Awesome job on top and quilting!!!

Wow - that's going to keep him warm AND happy. What a lovely thought for a quilt. Give Pop-Pop my best wishes, he sounds like a lovely person.
