I think my personal favourite layout would be #2.

I love the fact that on this board, one has the freedom to suggest options without being shot down in flames.

Creativity is a wonderful thing, and it's reflected by the variety of responses when an opinion is called for.

Good luck working out the glorious layout!!!!

I read or someone told me that the original log cabin quilts did not have borders on them. Perhaps Loretta would know.

#2 reaches out to me but you still have tons of layouts to rehearse before you pick a final one. It's going to be awesome whatever you decide.

geesh, LOl, I'm half drunk on all natural ice cream...couldn't wrap my pea (brain) around all the suggestions, lol, so had to scan them...know they were good, bc with these blocks, you can't go wrong,...but, since you asked for opinions, and opinions I have...#2...oops, forgot to let go of the shift key and looked like I was swearing....teeheeeheee....me, swear...not me...I never...I did say doo-doo to my grandbaby yesterday, and she laughed and giggled like a five year old.
    can't imagine why...she's only 5!!!! (i'm not right...but, i will be...)

I bought a new book yesterday: Judy Martin's LOG CABIN QUILT BOOK. As if I need another quilting book! She gives 66 ways to set log cabin blocks and directions for making different log cabin blocks. Good hints, color value, and quilting ideas

Your quilt is going to be gorgeous, Karla.
