    Thank you all!

For those who want to know about a pattern -

    I didn't use a pattern.
I posted on page 2 the link to the very good tutorial by TooMuchFabric for the pinwheels which I used. But here it is again

    http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-57715-1.htm

My pinwheel blocks are 4ins (finished).
I did baste the pinwheel pieces to the background pieces before machining them together, but you could just use pins.

You could make it with sashings as I have, or just make pinwheel blocks, in which case you will need quite a few more than the 20 I made.

My sashings and borders are 2ins (finished), and the darker feature border is 1in finished.
Overall finished size of the quilt is 32in x 40in - so it is simple to alter the size by changing number of blocks, different borders etc.

I did STID around each pinwheel block, and around each border seam, before starting the FMQ, which I did freehand, no marking.
The micro whirls on the white of the pinwheel backgrounds took a long time though!

I used Quilters Dream Polyselect (medium loft), great for baby quilts, laundering etc. and shows up the stitch lines nicely.
Threads were Mettler Silk Finish 50/3, with a pink Bottom Line in the bobbin.

I got all my pinks from my "pieces" box, and sashing/border/background/backing fabrics from stash - so a "no shop" little quilt!

    Have fun!

This is beautiful. Great inspiration! I may have to make my own 3D pinwheel quilt.
