It is amazing. Are you the one that always put these wonderful quilts together? I have seen a few but always forget who does them. I just love it. I am always looking for more to look at.

It was not a panel but fabric with continuous repeats (Can't remember if I purchased it from Fabric Depot, eQuilter or some other internet supplier). I built a collage from appliques cut from that same fabric and also coordinating Asian fabrics from my stash; i.e., the cranes, the bridge, the koi, rocks, background dark forest. My quilt room is stuffed to the gills with enough fabric to afford me the luxury of having virtually everything on hand at a moment's notice. I never let the uninitiated see my private room without a stiff drink first. The last time I did that, the poor unsuspecting soul looked like she needed therapy afterward.

[quote=Sarah CA]Absolutely lovely. How long did it take you?

The development of the concept took several days. Fabric selection took longer than the actual construction of the quilt. Fusing the appliques with Misty Fuse and then stitching them in place with invisible thread, gluing the crystals and stars as well as thread painting were all very labor intensive. I would estimate the whole project took a little over 130 hours from start to finish but, oh, so much fun.

Extreme Quilter, thank you sooooo much for the followup. Oh I wish I could have been a fly on the wall for that presentation. Your above comment about your sewing room has me laughing my butt off!   I'd come see your private room just for the stiff drink!
