Alrighty ladies, what do you think? Do you like this? Or should I take off what I did and just do borders around the applique center? Rarrr. Perfectionists should NOT quilt, lol!! (**Not finished)

Thanks Leota. I've always wanted to make a this block and it seemed like a good opportunity. The color is a bit off in the picture. It's more of a softer ocean-blue color.

bjnicholson 08-18-2010 02:57 PM

missgigglewings, I like yours. What's wrong with it?

Sew Cornie, I adore your center. Now I can't decide on what center to use for my own.. Hedgehogs or a very traditional center? Hmmmm.

lavandula girl 08-18-2010 06:41 PM

Bailey, that's lovely!

M.I.Late 08-18-2010 07:25 PM

Love all your centers so far. Was going to participate, but sold house and have to move. I'm sittin back as a drooler this time. Will gladly jump in if I get the call and the move is over. Can't wait to see what you creative ladies do. I know I'll be in awe. Looking forward to it.

Well thank you BRT, but really, you must go with the hedgehogs . . . they're so adorable!!

Thanks for asking. Now I also know what it means.

mjsylvstr 08-19-2010 03:25 AM

Not in the group but had to write and tell you all how beautiful each and everyone of them are...

one is prettier than the next.....

MonicaLW 08-19-2010 05:49 AM

Beautiful, every one of them.

laparshall 08-19-2010 06:58 AM

I'm not in any of the groups either, but I would love to get my hands on some of those centers. Nice start. I'll be happy just watching the progress.

rebeccalr 08-19-2010 08:39 AM

Okay, so I got the translation of IRR, but what does it mean? Are y'all passing them around? Or just working on a specific type of quilt (can't be that too many different types of centers)?

BTW, I love to see all of the different ideas and colors. Great work!

fancifrock 08-19-2010 11:05 AM

I'm new to the site. What are "centers"

cbridges22 08-19-2010 11:13 AM

The middle block that the quilt is built around. My avatar is my center for the swap.

Go to members swaps,International Round Robin and read the rules and specifics. Each group has a site and the pictures are being posted in each site as well as the main site.

Okay this IRR III has 84 people taking part. They have been split into 14 groups of 6 people. Each person makes a centre and passes it on to the next person in her group to put on a border 3" /4"/5"/6"/7", eventually she will get her own centre back. So yes there are quite few centres going around 84 to be precise and all different. Hopethat clears it up for you.

Jodimae I have the same south western fabric and have been holding it for a long time. Didn't really know what I would like to do. Your block is perfect, love the color combination.

jodimae 08-19-2010 12:06 PM

Thanks, I've always wanted to do an "Indian" style quilt but never did. I'm gonna let my group girls help me.

LoriJ 08-19-2010 12:27 PM

That's what I did for IRR 2 - take a look at how wonderful it's turning out! My group has gone above and beyond what I ever imagined.

All of the centers are terrific. Wish I had decided to join in. Maybe if there is another one I'll jump in and enjoy doing one.

Barbara... is precision and different word for perfection :D
I agree.... Her work is a shining example of what we are to strive for.

I guess it is, but I try not to use the word "perfect", because I know I can NEVER reach that ....it is too lofty of a goal! (LOL) But I do strive for precision, just don't often get there either.
