Fireman's Prayer
When I am called to duty, God whenever flames may rage Give me the strength to save some life Whatever be its age. Help me to embrace a little child before it's too late, or some older person from the horror of that fate. Enable me to be alert and hear the weakest shout. And quickly and efficienctly to put the fire out. I want to fill my calling and give the best in me, to guard my neighbor and protect his property. And if according to your will, I have to lose my life. Please bless with Your protecting hand, my children & my wife.

It's wonderful! You did a great joy designing and executing it. I hope it brings a bundle for the fire depts!

This should raise lots of $ ..! Firefighters and families will have a heartfelt response to this quilt. My dd works in a fire dept for the city (she is not a firefighter) and she thinks this is great!

Wow!!! So emotional and special. Hope it brings in a ton of cash. Very special.
|
Awesome. You did a fabulous job. Hope it brings lots of money.

Your quilt is beautiful It brought tears to my eyes, because we all owe so much to our firefighters. Our little town in CT has an all-volunteer fire department, and they never have trouble raising money in their annual fundraising quest. We know how much they mean to us!
|
Your quilt turned out great and for a good cause.
|
It is AWESOME....love how it came out.....congratulations....great job!!!!
|

Wow, I'm in awe. That is such a heart warming quilt. I'm not good a putting on pictures but sure enjoy looking at others. I just finished a quilt for veterans. If anyone is interested in making some to give they are so in need. I do it through The Twilight Brigade. It is a group of volenteers that makes sure no veteran dies alone. They have never had a quilt donated to them before I sent mine so if you feel the love try it. Tell Jill Cece sent you. [email protected].

My daddy who we lost five years ago was a captain of his local fire department for over 30 years. What a glorious quilt!
|
Brought tears to my eyes. Firemen and women are so special. Heroes everyday, not everyday heroes. Thanks to them and to you for raising money for them to be able to work more safely.

I wish I was a 'quilter' & could have quilted it, but I'm not. I'm retired & basically new to quilting. I spent around $100. on fabrics, pellons, etc & that's my donation, along with 3 solid weeks of time.Maybe I need to find others in the area that would quilt for free to donate next year. My Aunt & others met at our church for as many years as I can remember..all their quilts were tied/knotted.Their quilts were beautiful & appreciated, so I did not have a problem tying this one.To me, it feels like love. Real quilting would have been beautiful! I have to work on that. Thanks for your critique.

As the daughter of a fire dept. captain and a quilter, I love it. It's beautiful! Good luck!

What a very special quilt. Nice job.
|
Loved your quilt. I would like to be able to do one that looked like yours does.
|
What a beautiful job you did and I know it will be greatly appreciated by the person who gets it in the auction. I grew up in Cressona and my father was a member of the local fire companies, so I can appreciate your effort, and know that the fire companies will put the monies to good use.

That is just an AWESOME quilt. What a wonderful job you have done on it. I hope you raise loads of money for it.

Small world isn't it? Do you still have family here? I first practiced on a smaller piece, and will be making that into a wall hanging. It actually got pretty good because of the good advice I received from this site. This year Schuylkill Haven will be hosting the 'Sch County Firemens Convention" & I thought perhaps I would give the wall hanging to them , hopefully to raise a little money to defray costs of hosting that . .

Yes, my Mom still lives in the house we all grew up in. I get home about four times a year. Miss the region, but have very fond memories of the Firemen's Conventions and the parades. I am sure Sch, Haven would LOVE the wall hanging. That is the wonderful thing of growing up in the Skook, seems the folks really appreciate the effort someone like yourself, has put into a project. Have found that not many regions of the country are quite like our region.

what a beautiful and meaningful gift.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
|
I'm confident many fire fighters will bid on the quilt, it's lovely.
|
I love it very original and well done!!

This quilt is outstanding!!! I was wondering if you would consider doing one similar to this to do as a raffle or silent auction to benefit the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots who lost their lives batteling the Yarnell Hill Fire 6/30/13? If it is something you are interested in please contact me and we can discuss some things. I could help with the cost but I am just learning to quilt so something like this is way beyond my ability. Thanks Lisa [email protected]

Now that is one special quilt, so I hope it raises lots of Dollars for them, thanks to you for your Generosity.
