thanks all for the nice compliments

Block 19 is proving to be a real challenge. I'm about to pull my hair out ....... but I will succeed, even if I am bald!

Trish,
To answer your question, it doesn't have a name it is one of the 36 blocks in the Affairs of the Heart Applique Masterpiece Book by Aie Rossmann that we are completing together here on the board.
If you go to Amazon.com you can see some of the pages in the book.
Look forward to having you join us in this adventure.

Patti...hang in there with 19....I decided that I will be doing some type of thread painting with my quilting to catch a few of those stray threads that I couldn't seem to conquer!

Also, I tried the tip about dragging my needle through the glue stick, then dragging the bit of glue into the inney...that DOES help! Try that on the inney...then try to trim as much excess of the taper end of the scroll as you can. (Would ya' listen to me...all sounding like I know what I'm doing...LOL!!!

I am only missing a few patches of hair so far, but I have not finished this block yet. I hope I don't have to do that "comb-over thingy to cover those spots......
I have tried the glue tip and it has made the tips easier to manage, just hope it continues to go as smoothly until this block is finished. When I looked at it, initially, I was going to put it off until last, but decided if I didnt do it now, I may never do it and it would be a shame to do the other 35 blocks and not finish the whole thing.

Trish,
Have you been to the quilt shop on Pulaski Hwy in Elkton? It is called My Favorite Quilt Shope. We have a "Soup and Sew" every friday from 9 - 5. Bring a project, come join us for fellowship, fun and help with whatever your question is. We generally have lunch about 12:30. Lauren provides the soup, and we bring our own drinks. If you have time, please join us.

As you find the time, I hope you will join some of the swaps that are on here. My favorites are the Doll Quilt Swap each month, fabric postcard swap, and the 1 1/2" "postage stamp swap that happens about every 3 months....I am collecting those to do a quilt. There are many others that are alot of fun and you will learn new techniques or refine the skills you already have with the help of the very knowledgable quilters on here. Look forward to talking to you soon and seeing you join one of the swaps.
