I also need to follow your lead. I just received 30 10-inch squares I bought off eBay and they're uglier than sin.

It's very nice! Great way to use up fabric that is more or less "useless" because of color. That black really does its own thing and makes it a beautiful quilt!
|
Great idea! My charm stash is overflowing! Yours turned out great!
|
Wonderful quilt.

My first quilt was a Nickle Quilt by Pat Speth. I dont think she gets the credit for her work. The name "charms" are forever associated with Moda. Good marketing on their part.
Great quilt, by the way. Sandy |
love your scrappy and you did a great job pairing them all together.

Really nice job! As you can tell by my name, I LOVE working with scraps! I'll have to add this pattern to my ongoing list of projects.

I love it. The colors are soooo bright.

I had never heard of the rule of pairing an ugly fabric with black but boy, it sure does work. It turns them into works of art which is what your quilt is! Love this rule and will definitely follow it in the future. Thanks for sharing it and your quilt with us!

Very pretty design and colors.
|
That turned out brilliantly! Happy holidays!

I like this so much, I just looked up the pattern so that I can start using some of my scraps. Thanks.

Very nice, Bonnie is a great inspiration!

Just really like that you took those lemons and turned them into lemonade! Very pretty....
|
Well done! Love it. Black is my favorite neutral for this kind of quilt.
|
Ingenious.
Love it. |
Love it!! I find it so fun to put things together and have them surprise me...by turning out really nice!

It came out great! Thanks for sharing it with us!

That is beautiful! Great job!

Wonderful use of scraps. I always feel as though scraps are free. I paid for the fabric for a project and the scraps are left overs so they are kind of free. And any project I get out of them is free.
|
very nice!

Beautiful quilt, I admire your tenacity!

A few years back I got carried away purchasing charms on eBay. Most of them have been worked into quilts but there was a pile of castoffs that got passed over through the various sortings and pairings. Using the rule of small pieces for ugly fabric I paired them with black and made them into 4-patches. With no particular pattern in mind, there they sat until I came across Bonnie Hunter's Patches and Pinwheels pattern. I added HST and additional 4-patches from my scraps and this is what I came up with. Just finished the top yesterday. It isn't pressed and doesn't have borders but I wanted to share. I'm calling it gemstones.
And I see the picture didn't post. Hang on while I see what I can do. Here we go. |
Congratulations on a beautiful quilt.

That is just plain gorgeous! What a work of art! You just don't know where to look first! Stunning!

The name suits it perfectly...it surely is a gem. Well done! Goes to show there's a "home" for every little scrap.
