Kudos for persevering! Great bag!

If you want a well written bag pattern, annie unrein can't be beat IMHO. She has lots of weekender bags patterns

You did a great job on it, and the piping looks wonderful. Maybe it's time to teach the daughter to make her own gifts...

My friend sewed one of these and used a lighter interfacing. It still turned out great. :)

What a great looking bag!!! I bet is is lighter in weight than purchased ones too---great job! If it didn't look so hard I would love to try one of those!!
Its the piping that makes it so hard... but it doesn't have to have piping. I'm not going to 'pipe' the one I make for my daughter's friend. It will be a breeze! |

Edited to add: I searched for her patterns and ended up buying the cosmetics travel bag-- the drop down one you can hang in a bathroom. :) |
Sewbizgirl that is a very nice (professional looking) weekender. Those fabrics look great. What a great job you did on that covered piping.

Thank you Susan and everyone. Not sure I will do the piping ever again!
