Yes, I was thinking of that too but there were buttons on the one my son made abt 20 odd years ago as a school project and his son has used it so much it's nearly fallen apart, he's 12 now and never a button came off it :)

Very sweet! I am sure the parents will keep watch on those buttons and stitch them tighter, if need be. It's an adorable bear. :-)
