great beginning

i love your blocks so far. just in case you are interested, here are some google images for different log cabin layouts https://www.google.com/search?q=imag...w=1017&bih=648

Keep going, it's gonna be gorgeous!!

Love your fabric choices. Can't wait to see which way you decide to lay them out. There are so many choices.
|
I think you're on the right track, but I agree that the fabric with the small black flowers belongs more in the dark pile than in the lights. It looks like one of the strips in the second block is dark where it should be light (the giraffe pattern). Amazingly, it still looks great. Log cabin can be a very forgiving pattern, and your fabrics are lovely. I actually like the black mixed in. I think it makes for a more dramatic quilt. Keep going and you will have a stunning quilt.

I think it is going to look Great, remember the log cabing does not look wright until you put it all togeather. There are 50 ways you can put the block togeather when they are done so keep on working on it you are doing great. In reference to the solid black, either put it in the same place on the block or delete it altogeather. The eye goes to the solid black and you do not see the whole block.

There was a black and white and red log cabin posted not too long ago that will show more squares together. It had a red sashing. I think yours will be great as others do!

Really great work!

You go girl!!! It looks really good, don't sell yourself short. Maybe with your border you could use something like the black and red and make it pop!! I would also quilt it with a red thread

Keep up the good work. You're doing fine.
