You can use any fabric for the lining...it is covered up...use the fugglies!

I used a pretty white on white cotton but any cotton will do

As I was folding laundry today I had another idea for making the bed warmers.....use nice towels. I have some with wonderful texture and you can get a few from one bath towel

I think it was just about 2 lbs...I found 2 lb bags of rice at Dollar Tree...but I have filled a big coffee can with rice so only judging it to be about 2 lbs... and I heat it now for 2 1/2 minutes and it stays really warm for well over an hour
