Would really like to know too how you put in the zippered pockets. Can you do a tute? Love it |
What a cute purse - and so kind of you to make to donate!
Also, like everyone, I love the addition of the zippered pockets. I think I should add these to my next one as well. Great job :) Debbie in Austin |

How did you add the inside zipper pockets? this is the mini bowtuck as probably all of you know.... And everyone that makes them knows they call for the fusible fleece. I did the front sections with the fleece but I also added another piece of fabric for the back. (like when you do a quilt)..... For the lining I cut it 13" high instead of the 11-1/2 the pattern called for. I also added another piece of fabric to it. the extra fabric creates the lining for the zippered sections. 3" down from the top I cut it straight across. I centered the zipper (CAN NOT be any longer than 9") and stitched each side to where the zipper will be. I used a 1/2" seam to sew this. I pinned the zipper in the opening and stitched that into place. Tip....On each end, I pressed the seam open and when I stitched the zipper I started at that end and stitched them open so they laid flat. After I was done, I recut the lining piece to the 11-1/2 inches that it called for. That is how I did mine, but I am sure there is another way. Some purses have the smaller side pocket. I like the way that I did these.. ALSO......one some that I made, if I put in two zippers, I would make them different colors. That way I could destinquish what I had in each side....I was always opening the wrong side!! I hope this helps. Barb |
Thank you so much Barb for posting this!! I will do mine this way. :-D :-D
