Thanks You... To sew the blocks together you sew it with the machine, the star is done by hand with # 10 crocket thread, and gingham material. It is hard to explain, easy if you see it done.

Willi, I did some aprons years ago and loved it, but never found any patterns except one for a border. I've got three bolts of gingham, and would love using it ina quilt and now I have an idea of what to do. Thank you for sharing your beautiful pattern with us.

I did one chicken scratch block years ago. I've got the fabric and patterns to do more but where's the time??
I found books for chicken scratch patterns at http://www.pegasusor.com/chicken.htm Your quilt is beautiful. As soon as I finish up my current redwork I think it'll be time to move along to more chicken scratch. Although I do have some embroidery bunnies to make. Decisions. How do you choose? Directions for chicken scratch. http://www.pegasusor.com/pdfs/chickenscr.pdf |

Your quilt is gorgeous. I've never heard of chicken scratch ... or since I'm a Tennessee girl, never in relation to quilting. What is it and how do you do it?
