Very pretty! I like that they could also be used for a small table mat or candle mat. With other fabrics they would be nice any time of year. Thinking red,white and blue for July!!

Thanks for the pictures. They are great. Not long after I started quilting, probably about 1990 i made so many placemats using that method, I had sent them to Florida, Colorado, Wyoming, Ohio, and Arizona. They are fun to make and addicitive. One variation I came up with was to use two fabrics, USing the same fabric on each side of a wider center piece. That way I had a continous ring of fabric. rather than the spider web look. Have fun making them, and I hope you do well at the craft fair

This would be a great idea for animal themed ones. Also I've got some chicken fabric and I might make some with that - I live in a farming area and chickens always go down well! :-D
