Stunning! And in amazing shape!
There are very few of us who have family quilts nearly 200 years old. I am blessed to have given our family quilt to the Texile Museum of Colonial Williamsburg in 2002. On first receiving it they thought it probably dated to the 1780s or even earlier and were so excited to have a regionally made quilt with written provenance. It was way too fragile to keep 'at home' any longer. I hope to someday reproduce it, create a reproduction fabric line from it and write a book about it. How very fortunate he is to have this. :) Jan in VA |

http://www.quiltappraisers.org/ This is the professional quilt appraisers organization. I'd have it appraised by one of them and they may be able to give advice on where to try to sell. Do Christie's and Southeby's auction this type of thing?

STUNNING!

You might also contact the museum in Paducah. They might know of some collectors and who knows? Might be interested themselves!
