For a quilt the age of that one, I would check with Butterfields. You will have to insure it, and send it for appraisal, but I think it would be well worth it to him, if for nothing more than finding out what it is actually worth. He may change his mind about selling it when he knows its true value

I would suggest that you contact the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, MA. They may be interested in looking at it and I am sure that they would give him fair market value. If they are not interested, they should be able to provide the name of someone to contact for an appraisal and suggest the best way to sell it. It's a beautiful quilt, and I love to use white to set my work ofmostely flowers. Would you mind to tell me how you made the flowers look puffy. Didyou follow a pattern. If possible could you tell me how you went about it. Thanks, Rosalie
