OMG is that is beautiful! Had the pleasure of visiting the monument in '06... very impressive, but your quilt and the tribute to the monument is over the top... I opened the link up and the chills I felt for the all emotion behind the quilt.. what can I say TERRIFIC Job !!

Beautiful Quilt. I too have been moved at the monument.

I must ask... It is my understanding that there are no authenticated photos of Crazy Horse and it is believed by his descendents there are no photos of him in existence only a drawing done by a Mormon missionary. Who is in the photo in the center of your quilt?

It was a picture I found online that looked like a pencil drawing of Crazy Horse. I'll find out when I go up to the Crazy Horse monument for sure, lol. The picture said it was of Crazy Horse

An answer to the question about the picture of Crazy Horse :
As sited from the official webiste:
How can a portrait be carved of a person who refused to be photographed?
Chief Henry Standing Bear and other Native American elders who invited Korczak to carve Crazy Horse Memorial insisted that the Memorial be located in the Black Hills because they are sacred to the Lakota. They also insisted that the Memorial be named after Crazy Horse because he is a great American Indian hero. Korczak did not intend to depict what Crazy Horse actually looked like. He always answered such questions this way:

"Crazy Horse is being carved not so much as a lineal likeness but more as a memorial to the spirit of Crazy Horse -- to his people." -- Korczak
