Wow! What a great job. Makes me want to dig into my scraps but I have too many other projects waiting in the wings. What a great quilt, tho. I agree. You should enter it in a fair or contest.

This link is about double sided binding with two colors. (I just now discovered this - after I'd figured it out myself!) HOWEVER: I wouldn't want one side of the binding to be only one thickness, like the link above teaches, SO: I made one binding strip 1.5" wide of one color and the other binding strip 2.0" wide, using the second color. I folded each strip, wrong sides together, and pressed lengthwise. I sewed these two strips together with 1/4" seam and pressed the joining seam out flat. This resulted in both edges of the now-two-colors binding to have a folded edge. Sew the wider strip to the raw quilt edge with 1/4" seam, mitering corners, as usual. Fold the binding up and over the top edge of the quilt so that the other side of the binding lies flat against the other side of the quilt. Sew it down as you normally would. Hope this will be useful information. I very much appreciate each and every comment. Thank you all! |
There is something about scrap quilts that I just love.
This is a great example of one. I love both sides. |
this is BEAUTIFUL, Scrappy's are the best! I love that it is reversable.
|
Wow georgous quilt both sides are spectacular.
|
That is a beauty! Did you long arm this quilt? Your quilting works great for both sides. One more question...how did you do the binding in two different colors? Doesn't show on either side. You do wonderful work!!
|
If this is the result of scraps, I can't imagine what you could do with a planned project! These are both just lovely. What ingenuity and determination! Congratulations. Eye candy for sure.
