I didn't use batting. I just use a bed sheet on the back of the first two quilts. I gave one to my parents and one to my sister. They live in Killeen, Texas. Where it really doesn't get cold at all. On the third quilt I plan on using flannel with not batting on the back. I am moving to colorado springs in the fall. I figure I will need the warmth.

Nice job! I want to make one someday but years ago, before I thought about it, I gave away dozens of pairs of my sons' jeans. Too bad.

Love your quilt. When I receive a pair of jeans from anybody, (my kiids, grandkids, sons, daughters, strangers, etc.) I cut them up right away and when I have enough for a quilt, I don't have to cut forever. Besides they take up much less room cut to size and stacked in a baggie

A denim quilt is on my someday list too. I was thinking I would make denim patchwork and make a dog bed out of it because it would be so durable and hold up.

You were brave to tie the corners. I have two I want to finish within the next two weeks (someone gave them the tops while in the states in May)--but I'm chicken and I'll tie the centers of the squares--and not attempt at the corners. Denim makes a wonderful quilt but sometimes it is rather tough to work with.
