Beautiful quilt!

Don-Just an old quilters opinion but Wedding RING, means RINGS..aka:circles...I would NOT square this quilt top up at all ! You can make square or rectangle quilts galore the rest of your life, this is a Double Wedding RING, please leave the RINGS and do not cut them off...ugh it would not look good at all. Make bias binding and it will sew on like a dream and go around any and all curves you give it and lay right down while hand stitching it down after sewing it on...just my opinion, but gorgeous, gorgeous quilt, don't square it PLEASE???

It's a beautiful quilt, and either way will make a lovely finish. I did a google image search for the double wedding ring and see this one with the straight edge from McCalls. Maybe you can get some more info on it? http://www.mccallsquilting.com/patte....html?idx=6913

This one looks like it has been appliquéd onto the other piece http://cindysantiquequilts.com/dynapage/IP488.htm

No advice - just want to tell you how beautiful your quilt is.

Don I love it. I feel it is your quilt. If you want to square it up go for it! Looking forward to the next photo. Luann

I agree, your DWR is beautiful. Sorry I can't help with your request. Maybe try cutting strips long enough for each of the sides, about 6" wide and sewed it from the front to the back on each side then folded the strips to the back of the quilt and pressed it to form straight edges? after pressing you can trim the excess for the size border you wanted. Make sure to clip the seam around the curves to help them straighten. Hope this makes sense and work for you!!

I agree with ragamuffin, just use the middle template & cut it in half plus add a extra 1/2 inch to the cut side for extra trimming if needed. That way you will keep all your rings & still square up your beautiful quilt. You always do a wonderful job on your quilts & would hate to see you lose part of your rings by cutting them for squaring off.
