love the colors in this quilt, beautifully done

As usual, Don, this is definitely a keeper.

Don, see the Missouri Star Quilt Company's tute on binding scalloped edges. It isn't that hard and you can do it. I surprised myself and did one and it came out fine!

Beautiful, I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out after all the ideas above on finishing - my vote is to keep the scalloped edges if you can. I don't really know how to explain what they call "The Birthing Method" of finishing a quilt, but maybe that would be the way to go...

Beautiful quilt.

Don: Just wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed viewing your work. Your piecing and color sense are always superior. No help with squaring up, I like the scalloped edges.
|
Don, you have such a fabulous color sense! You have not posted a picture I have not been in love with.. this is no exception!

This one looks like it has been appliquéd onto the other piece http://cindysantiquequilts.com/dynapage/IP488.htm[/QUOTE]
Don, Your quilt is drop dead gorgeous!! Love that tan background with your fabrics. The picture in this link from thimblebug is what I would suggest, Cut borders from your tan fabric wide enough to be able to applique your quilt edges to them and still have an inch or two outside of the wedding ring curve. Then you could add your border to that with your stacked pieces. That way you get the best of both...you keep your beautiful WR curves and get to add the border you want which I think will make a stunning addition to the quilt. Whatever you do, post another picture when you're finished. BTW, yours is the first wedding ring quilt I've ever seen that has been pretty enough for me to be inspired to make one myself. You're awesome! |
