Absolutly beautiful!! I would love the pattern. A dear friend lost her 8 year old granddaughter to cancer last year. At the interment just as everything was done, literally hundreds of dragenflys appeared out of nowhere. All of us were speechless and comforted. We believe it was her Jaydens way of saying goodby. I would truly love to make this for her.

I did one of this pattern for a friends baby and now everyone wants one... lol..
I keep using up what I consider the 'perfect' field fabric and have to go on the hunt for something else that will work... that one always seems to become the 'perfect' fabric... until I use THAT one up.... heh... so many options. I did find one that I try to use on all of mine... I bought several yards in order to have it for this pattern specifically. It is a green(ish) fabric with gold dragon flies on it... it is PERFECT for the band separating what I consider the 'pond' (where the DF's are) and the 'field' (that the pond sits in). I love your choice of the purple... i have stayed with blues and greens so far, but that is absolutely striking. |
Beautiful!

That is beautiful. The colors are striking and I love your dragonflies.

It's very pretty. I've heard that batiks are difficult to hand quilt. Was it harder to hand quilt than regular quilting cottons?

Very nice!!! I love it!

I got the pattern in the mail yesterday; thank you mtnmama for telling me what it is! It's Laurie Shifrin's Over the Fields. I actually got to meet her this summer when she was doing a class at my LQS on her Broken Garden Path - I brought mine in to show her, since I'd already finished it. I'm so excited to make mine... but now I need to go find my perfect fabrics for it! |
That is gorgeous!! I love the colors!!
