Beautiful!

I finished a large leaf print quilt in 2008 (sorry, no picture). I hand outlined the multi-colored leafs and hand-quilted 3 leaf borders. It was a gift for my nephew who lives in Rhode Island.

This is a gorgeous quilt - is this your own pattern or is the design one could buy somewhere?

I love the way the leaves all play together - but it looks confusing to piece - you did a fantastic job of it.

OH I love your quilt. I have seen that pattern done and wondered how hard it would be to do one, now I know.

I should have read more of the responses - now I see where the design comes from - Tessellations by Jackie Robinson. Will have to see about getting this book. Love the effect of overlaping designs.

Her book has several tessellating patterns. They are so intriguing to me! The blocks themselves are not difficult to construct....it's all about planning and layout. You can't make one block without knowing the colors of the block next to it and below or above it. She provides worksheets to color in the book.
You should get it - you have the same name initials! :lol:

Beautiful quilt and an entertaining story behind it as well...if you don't, you should journal each quilt's story- it's great to have for memories down the road. It's amazing we survive parenthood!

Lovely quilt. Good for them to travel. Lived in Uk for a couple of years when I was newly married, 1963, age 19 - OK stop counting!!!!! Loved it and still love Twinings tea and a cuppa!
